الوقت - امریکی یونیورسٹیوں کے 70 سے زائد پروفیسرز اور دانشوروں نے ایک کھلے خط میں اسرائیل کی غیر قانونی کالونیوں اور اس کی پیداوار کے باہدف بائیکاٹ کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔
اسرائیلی اخبار ہارٹز نے اپنی رپورٹ میں بتایا ہے کہ اس خط پر دستخط کرنے والوں نے اسے دی نیویارک ریویو آف بکس (The New York Review of Books) میں شائع کیا۔
اس خط میں امریکی حکومت سے مطالبہ کیا گیا ہے کہ کالونیوں کو تجارتی مفاد سے محروم کر دے اور مقبوضہ مغربی کنارے میں اسرائیل کے اقتصادی اداروں کو کسی بھی قسم کے "ٹیکس" میں چھوٹ نہ دے۔
اس خط پر دستخط کرنے والوں نے صرف اسرائیل کی غیر قانونی کالونیوں کے بائیکاٹ کا مطالبہ کیا ہے نہ ان اسرائیلی اداروں کے خلاف تنبیہی کارروائی کا مطالبہ کیا ہے جو دیگر مقبوضہ علاقوں میں واقع ہیں۔
فلسطین کے غاصبانہ قبضے کے وقت سے ہی اسرائیل نے مقبوضہ فلسطین میں 120 کالونیوں کی تعمیر ہے۔ اقوام متحدہ اور دنیا کے بہت سے ممالک نے اسرائیل کے اس قدم کو غیر قانونی قرار دیا ہے کیونکہ یہ 1967 کی جنگ میں اسرائیلی قبضے میں جانے والی زمین پر بنی ہیں اور جنیوا کنونشن کی بنیاد پر مقبوضہ علاقوں میں کسی بھی قسم کی تعمیراتی سرگرمی غیر قانونی ہے۔
فلسطین کی سرزمین کے کچھ علاقے پر جہاں اسرائیل کی کالونیاں نہیں ہیں، مختلف چیک پوسٹ بنائی گئی ہیں جس کی وجہ سے فلسطینی آزادی سے آمد و رفت نہیں کر سکتے۔
