Alwaght- Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, fighters have seized an Israeli regime spy drone that fell on northern Gaza Strip, the second within two months, a Hamas official said Saturday.
The official, who spoke to China’s Xinhua news agency on condition of anonymity, said the second drone fell on agricultural field at the outskirts of the northern Gaza Strip town of Beit Lahia, adding the farmer who found the drone handed it to Hamas.
He said that the Israeli regime spy drones are falling on the Gaza Strip either on purpose or due to technical errors.
Hamas military wing, better known as Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades hasn't officially made any comments, while Israeli army officials made no immediate comments to the report.
In July 22, Hamas announced that it seized a Sky-Lark 1 drone that also fell on northern Gaza Strip. The drone was dismantled and reassembled and is fully operational, said a statement released by the Hamas. "Security checks were conducted, and the systems and technologies installed in the drone were examined, and then the unit rebuilt it and put the drone to use in the service of the al-Qassam Brigades," Hamas said in the statement.
“This is a great achievement... and a gift to the Palestinian people," the statement read. "This demonstrates the strength of our people and its resistance."
A video was also released on Hamas’ al-Aqsa television channel showing the UAV being operated by a Hamas member.
