Western Powers Upset by Syrian Forces Progress in Aleppo

Western Powers Upset by Syrian Forces Progress in Aleppo

Alwaght-The Syrian army continues to hit positions of foreign-backed Takfiri terrorist groups across the country, including the strategic city of Aleppo (Halab).

Aleppo is a city in Syria, serving as the capital of the Aleppo Governorate, the most populous Syrian governorate.

A military source announced on Friday that the army units retook a number of buildings in Sulaiman al-Halabi area in Aleppo city from the terrorists after clashing with them.

The buildings included Aleppo Club, the Electricity Department and the garage, said the source, noting that the army units are chasing down the terrorists who fled the area. The Syrian Air force carried out airstrikes on the supply routes and movements of terrorist organizations in the northern countryside of Aleppo, killing a number of terrorists and destroying a number of their armored vehicles and vehicles equipped with machineguns in Maarit al-Artik, Kafr Hamra and Anadan.

Meanwhile food packages were distributed on Friday to a number of affected and needy families in Aleppo city. Representative of the Russian Coordination Center at Hmeimim say that the food packages include varied kinds of canned food, amounts of flour and sugar and other basic food substances. Families receiving the aid expressed thanks and appreciation for the Russian stances towards the Syrian people in their war against terrorism and for the aid which has contributed to enhance the steadfastness of Syrians.

Amid the Syrian army offensive to liberate Aleppo which has been besieged by terrorists for a long time, Western countries asked for an emergency meeting at the UN Security Council in an apparent bid to stop advance by Syrian forces.

During the meeting, representatives of US, UK and France accused Russia of war crimes and ‘barbarism.’ Their argument was slammed by Moscow as Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman noted that the tone of accusations was just unacceptable and would end up harming the relations between the countries. His reactions came after US envoy to UN, Samantha Power, deemed Russia to be responsible for many civilian deaths in Aleppo. Maria Zakharova, who is the spokesperson for Russian Foreign Ministry argued that accusations made by US are a ploy by the country to divert everyone from their recent attack on Syrian troops near Deir ez-Zor.

She added that the erroneous US attack not only compromised the Syrian soldiers, but also resulted in a risk of them being defeated by the ISIS faction in the area. She also added that there was nothing more barbaric in modern history than “Iraq and Libya done the Washington way.”

Western-Backed Terrorists Bomb Aid Convoys in Aleppo

Elsewhere, Syria’s UN Representative Bashar al-Jaafari stressed that those behind shelling the humanitarian aid convoy of Aleppo are not the Syrian government but rather the terrorists and the US with their British and French allies. Addressing reporters after a UN Security Council session on Thursday, al-Jaafari recalled that it was French warplanes that bombarded Manbej in Aleppo countryside, leaving 200 civilians dead, mostly women and children.

“Everyone should have now realized that it is the Syrian government that is fighting terrorism, and that it doesn’t shell civilians as those living in Syria are Syrian people,” he affirmed.

Neither does the Syrian government target humanitarian aid convoys “as those who did that are the terrorists and the Americans along with their British and French allies,” al-Jaafari added.

Al-Jaafari said some UN officials are responsible for supporting the terrorists and for hindering the reconciliations in Syria, referring to a recent incident in al-Waer neighborhood in Homs where a member of the UN staff encouraged the gunmen to not drop and hand over their weapons.

The goal of many countries is to prolong the crisis so as to bring down the Syrian government and destroy the state and spread creative chaos, said al-Jaafari, reminding that the recent cessation of hostilities agreement was opposed by the Turkish, Qatari and Saudi governments, and that 20 major terrorist groups in Aleppo announced that they would not adhere to the agreement.

US Secretly Assisting Terrorists in Aleppo

Meanwhile, Russian Defense Ministry affirms that it has information to prove the existence of US military experts who are planning and leading the militants’ operations in Syria secretly, especially in Aleppo. The Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said that Russia knows well where and how the US military secret experts are involved in planning the armed operations in Syria, including in Aleppo. He pointed out that Washington admits that the “opposition” in Syria is a US-controlled terrorist group.

The Syrian crisis has entered a new phase following the brouhaha raised by Western countries which have now equipped terrorists with shoulder held missiles. As Hezbollah secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah reiterated recently, the fate of the Syrian crisis will be decided in the battlefield.

Western countries have no resolve to end the crisis in Syria and following the US attack on Syrian forces in Deir ez-Zor, it has become clear that the US is bent on shedding the blood of Syrians.

Questions are being raised as to why, Western countries and especially the US are upset whenever Syrian forces besieged terrorists. This is while Syrians in Foua and Kefraya, two pro-government villages in Idlib, have been besieged by terrorists for several years now but Western governments have not raised their voices.

The fact is that Syrian government is changing the battlefield in favor of the people and is liberating strategic regions. The most recent example is northern Aleppo region which is on the verge of complete liberation and therefore, Western countries which invested heavily on terrorists are up in arms against this victory.
