Why Iran Doesn’t Trust the Western Powers and IAEA

Saturday 7 February 2015
Why Iran Doesn’t Trust the Western Powers and IAEA

Alwaght- Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei although is not against a resumption of nuclear negotiations with E3+3, he belives talks will "lead nowhere".

"I repeat it again that I am not optimistic about the negotiations and they will lead nowhere, but I am not against them," said Ayatollah Khamenei.

Why the Supreme Leader is pessimistic concerning the nuclear talks, with the West in specific?

The reason portrays itself in the Western intentions toward Iran since 1979. At that time the Islamic revolution in Iran occurred, and then the US imposed broad economic sanctions against Iran. Since then, Washington has imposed various additional sanctions against Tehran, accusing the Iranian government of developing nuclear weapons and sponsoring or funding terrorism abroad. Whereas before that date the nuclear program under the Shah's rule was nothing to be condemned by Western powers as long as the Pahlavi dynasti was serving their agenda.

It is clear to all experts that the problem between the West and Iran is not the Iranian nuclear program but the Islamic revolution itself. Best example to justify this statement is the good relationship between US and Iranian neighbor Pakistan, which is an Islamic country and homeland of many terrorist members of the Taliban and al-Qaeda with a nuclear program.

On the other hand in Iran, the Supreme Leader issued a fatwa, “holy order” which forbade the stockpiling, production, and use of nuclear weapons. This was hardly mentioned by most Western mainstream media outlets, rarely making headlines, while criticism of their nuclear programs did.

Experts say that if Iran changes its foreign policy, generally converting its anti-imperialistic policies into pro-western policies, and mainly stopping its support to the Islamic resistance powers in the region, Iran will go back to be the Wests strongest ally in the region and all support needed will be offered.

All these facts manifest the irrational hostility of the West towards nothing but Iran's Islamic revolution itself.

IAEA co-player in the Western Agenda

Iran has been cooperating with the IAEA for several years but also resulting in no desirable outcome. The more explicit Iran was with IAEA the more greedy was the latter in its requests from Islamic Republic. The endless requests and questions from the agency for Iran show nothing but no will for reaching a solution. IAEA is clearly playing a political role instead of a legal one.

Iran like any other nuclear country has its duties and rights, but it seems that in this situation Iran is just doing its obligations but is deprived from its simplest rights. IAEA reports show that Iran is fully cooperating with the agency, opening its reactor plants for surveillance, allowing IAEA cameras to be on 24/7 recording all activities occurring in the nuclear plants. But still the West-led IAEA does not approve upon the peaceful Iranian nuclear program.

Some Western analysts say that the origins of the Iran nuclear "crisis" lay not in an Iranian urge to obtain nuclear weapons but, rather, in a sustained effort by the US and its allies to deny Iran its right, as guaranteed in the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), to have any nuclear program at all.

IAEA is being accused to be following the Western agenda by making it hard to reach a nuclear solution with IRAN. Yukiya Amano, the current Director General of IAEA, has been reported to be collaborating with the Israeli regime around the Iranian nuclear issue. Some analysts say IAEA is playing an intelligence role in Iran, providing Israel and the West with secret information including names of Iranian nuclear scientists, nuclear sites, equipment, etc…Where it is not surprising to know that such information helped Israeli Mossad in murdering some of the important Iranian nuclear staff scholars.

It seems that the Supreme Leader's expectations are in there place, where there is no nuclear deal in the horizon. Israeli regime and Saudi Arabia are clearly cooperating together to foil this deal, because such a deal will jeopardize their stability which is nourished by international tensions and chaos in the region. Also, such a deal will enhance Iran's influential power in the region which will also draw back the Zionist regime and the Saudi monarchy from the political arena.
