Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian met with Uzbekistan's Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov on Monday, following his arrival in Tehran. The two leaders discussed the potential for enhancing bilateral relations and regional stability through deeper cooperation.
Pezeshkian emphasized the shared historical, cultural, and ideological ties between Iran and Uzbekistan, noting that geographical borders will not hinder their mutual connection. He stressed that strengthening relations could bring increased welfare and security to both nations and the wider region.
During the meeting, Aripov commended the efforts of the two countries' presidents in advancing their common goals. He also praised Iran's significant achievements in science, industry, and technology after visiting an exhibition of Iran’s accomplishments. In a positive development, Iran and Uzbekistan signed four agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in various sectors.
