ALWAGHT- The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry likened the US’s inconsistent stance in nuclear negotiations to a snakes and ladders game, affirming that Iran’s enrichment activities will continue without interruption.
At a recent press conference, Iranian spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei rejected US envoy Steve Witkoff’s demand that any agreement must include a halt to Iran’s uranium enrichment. Baghaei emphasized that enrichment is a vital and non-negotiable part of Iran’s nuclear program, describing it as a necessary technology to sustain the country’s peaceful nuclear industry.
Baghaei criticized the US for inconsistent policies in the negotiations, comparing their shifting positions to a game of snakes and ladders. He expressed skepticism about Washington’s commitment, highlighting that repeated changes in stance and fresh sanctions undermine trust and cast doubt on the US’s seriousness in diplomatic efforts.
Despite the challenges, Baghaei reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to diplomacy and peaceful nuclear development. He stressed that ongoing US sanctions do not weaken Iran’s resolve but instead raise questions about America’s genuine willingness to reach an agreement. Since April, Iran and the US have engaged in four rounds of indirect talks mediated by Oman, aimed at resolving the nuclear dispute and lifting sanctions.
