ALWAGHT- An official reported that a large explosion at Iran’s Shahid Rajaei Port in the south on Saturday injured at least 80 people.
The spokesperson for the Medical Emergency Service at the port confirmed that at least 80 people were injured in the massive explosion.
The Customs Office at Shahid Rajaei Port stated that the likely cause of the blast was a fire at the storage depot for hazardous and chemical materials.
The explosion occurred in the Sina container yard, just two kilometers from the Customs building. The force of the blast completely destroyed nearby vehicles. Rescue teams and firefighters from neighboring cities have been dispatched to assist at the site.
