ALWAGHT- Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi strongly condemned the US president's recent remarks targeting Tehran, accusing Washington of years of sabotage against Iran and covering up Israeli crimes in the region.
Speaking to reporters after the cabinet meeting on Wednesday morning, Araghchi responded to US President Donald Trump's recent accusations that Iran is fueling insecurity in the region.
"I heard the US president's remarks last night, and unfortunately, a misleading narrative was presented. It is the United States, through over forty years of sanctions, military and non-military pressures, and threats, that has hindered the progress of the Iranian people."
"The true cause of Iran’s economic struggles is America and its hegemonic policies imposed on our nation. The US turning a blind eye to Israel’s threats and crimes in the region, while labeling Iran as the threat, is pure deception—a deliberate effort to distort the reality of who the real aggressor is."
