Alwaght- Over 100 people were killed or injured on Wednesday in a series of bombardments by the Saudi warplanes targeting the Yemeni capital Sanaa and the northern Saada province.
According to the Yemeni news agency, Saba, at least 92 prisoners were killed and injured when the US-Saudi coalition warplanes hit a police prison in downtown Sanaa early on Wednesday.
The enemy warplanes launched more than seven airstrikes on the prison of the Criminal Investigation Unit in the densely populated neighborhood of Shaoub in the center of the old city of Sanaa.
Meanwhile, several civilians were killed during Saudi-led bombardments of the Sahar district of Saada province.
The Saudi-led military coalition has been continuously pounding Yemen since March 2015 in an attempt to crush the popular Ansarullah movement and reinstate the former fugitive president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, a staunch ally of Saudi regime. Over 13,000 Yemenis, mostly civilians, including women and children, have been killed in the Saudi-led aggression.
The situation in Yemen is going from bad to worse with senior UN officials warning that the country is facing the world's largest famine in decades. The World Food Program says of a population of 26 million, some 17 million Yemenis do not know where their next meal is coming from and seven million are totally dependent on food aid.
