Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri Killed in Salah al-Din

Alwaght- Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri, Saddam Hussein’s Vice-president as well as one of the most prominent ISIS leaders, has been killed on Friday, according to Governor of Salah al-Din in a military operation in the Hamrin Mountains.

“Security forces managed to kill the terrorist Izzat Ibrahim al-Douri through a proactive process in Hamrin area near Alas fields,” Raed al-Jubouri, the governor of Salah al-Din told to Iraqi official channel.

No further detail has been published in this regard yet.

Douri was one of Saddam’s most trusted aides which US set a $10m bounty on him, Iraqi news reported.

Several times before, there were rumors publicized by some mainstream media that al-Douri has been killed, but this time, a picture of a corpse has been published by Iraqi News Agency Alsumaria.
