ALWAGHT- The presidents of Iran and China reaffirmed their dedication to deepening bilateral ties, vowing to carry out in full the 25-year strategic partnership deal concluded in 2021.
At a meeting in Beijing during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian pledged Iran’s readiness to strengthen ties with China “under any circumstances” and to fully implement the 25-year comprehensive cooperation agreement signed in 2021. He emphasized Iran’s role as a reliable ally and partner, highlighting projects such as high-speed rail and major highways as areas of potential collaboration.
Pezeshkian underscored Iran’s commitment to promoting regional peace and security while condemning what he described as US aggression and unilateralism. He stressed that Iran’s principal goal is to prevent oppression and strengthen stability in the region, positioning Tehran and Beijing as aligned against policies of coercion.
Chinese President Xi Jinping, for his part, reaffirmed China’s willingness to develop relations with Iran as a long-term strategic partner. He called for expanding cooperation on a “win-win” basis, especially in transportation, and voiced support for Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy. Xi also condemned US-Israeli attacks on Iran as violations of international law, reiterating that force cannot provide lasting solutions.
