ALWAGHT- Mohsen Paknejad, Iran’s Oil Minister, said that even if the snapback mechanism is triggered, Iran’s oil export volumes will remain unaffected, with the nation ready to manage and overcome any limitations.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of Wednesday’s cabinet meeting, Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad stressed that the ministry has implemented effective measures to counter the snapback mechanism if it is triggered. “We will naturally take the necessary steps based on the circumstances,” he added.
On the topic of oil sales, Paknejad noted that Iran has faced no issues exporting oil abroad, reporting exports of over 21,000 barrels per day (bpd) in the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21–July 21, 2025), compared with the same period last year. He reiterated that while snapback sanctions could pose partial obstacles, Iran is fully prepared to maintain exports and overcome any restrictions.
Paknejad emphasized that the country is not powerless in confronting such challenges. Highlighting the oil industry’s extensive experience in bypassing restrictions, he added that the ministry’s specialized team is ready to plan and adapt to ensure continuous exports under various sanction scenarios.
