ALWAGHT- Israeli forces’ gunfire and continued airstrikes have killed six Palestinians, including people waiting for humanitarian aid, in Gaza.
At least six Palestinian civilians, including aid-seekers, were killed and dozens more injured in Israeli attacks on Gaza City and Khan Younis, according to WAFA news agency. Victims included a child struck by artillery in Sheikh Radwan and an elderly man killed by gunfire in Al-Mawasi, while separate attacks targeted civilians at humanitarian aid distribution points.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have carried out extensive military operations in Gaza, resulting in over 225,837 casualties across the Palestinian territory. Recent weeks have seen intensified strikes, with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing plans to seize Gaza and enter Gaza City after July’s failed indirect talks with Hamas.
The international community has raised alarm over the escalating violence. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres renewed calls for a ceasefire, while humanitarian officials warned of catastrophic impacts. Leading genocide scholars, the ICC, and the ICJ have all cited Israel’s actions in Gaza as potential genocide and crimes against humanity, with arrest warrants issued against senior Israeli officials for war crimes.
