Alwaght- Iran's Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian met with Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayed Hassan Nasrallah upon his arrival in the Lebanese capital Beirut and discussed cooperation and bilateral ties.
The top Iranian diplomat arrived in Beirut after a two-day visit to Syria, where he talked with the Syrian President closer partnership.
Hezbollah is a major actor in the Lebanese politics and an "anchor" of national security.
Upon his arrival, Amir-Abdollahian said Iran is ready to cooperate with Lebanon in various fields, the National News Agency reported.
“The Islamic republic of Iran is always ready to build bridges of cooperation with the sisterly Lebanese Republic in various fields, especially economy, trade and development,” Abdollahian added on Thursday upon his arrival in Lebanon.
During his stay, the Iranian diplomat met with Lebanon’s House Speaker Nabih Berri, and is expected to meet with Prime Minister Mikati and Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib to discuss regional and international developments.
Berri has described Iran as the "main source of resistance" in the region which also inspires all resistance movements around the world, Press TV reported. The remarks were made during the meeting with Amir-Abdollahian.
