ALWAGHT- A senior adviser to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says Iran, China, and Russia — three independent Asian powers — are key players in shaping the new world order.
In a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Cong Peiwu, Ali Akbar Velayati highlighted the long-standing and strategic relationship between Iran and China, rooted in mutual respect and political independence. He praised Beijing’s consistent support for Iran, particularly in opposing Western mechanisms aimed at reinstating sanctions under the 2015 nuclear deal.
Velayati emphasized that China’s constructive stance in international forums reflects the strong trust and cooperation between the two nations. The Chinese ambassador reaffirmed Beijing’s commitment to strengthening ties with Tehran across various sectors and noted the importance China places on its partnership with Iran.
Despite sanctions and Western pressure, Iran has deepened its ties with both China and Russia. The Iran-China 25-year strategic partnership, signed in 2022, and the Iran-Russia 20-year cooperation treaty, implemented in 2025, underscore Tehran’s efforts to expand alliances and shape a multipolar world order independent of US influence.
