ALWAGHT- The village of al-Mughayyir came under attack by Israeli settlers as occupation forces arrested three Palestinians in Tulkarm, part of a broader pattern of escalating aggression throughout the West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces detained three Palestinians from the Tulkarm Governorate at dawn on Saturday amid escalating settler violence across the West Bank. The arrests come as part of an intensified crackdown on Palestinian civilians, particularly in regions resisting settlement expansion. Meanwhile, Israeli settlers carried out multiple assaults, including a violent attack on the village of al-Mughayyir near Ramallah, where several vehicles were set ablaze before residents forced the settlers to withdraw.
The following day, Israeli forces stormed al-Mughayyir, heightening tensions in the area. Similar incidents were reported near the Marj Sa'i plain, where settlers attacked Palestinian vehicles with stones. According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, over 7,150 settler attacks have occurred since October 2023, killing 34 Palestinians and causing widespread destruction to farmland, vehicles, and property. Despite these ongoing aggressions, Palestinian communities continue to resist the occupation’s policies and settlement expansion efforts.
Recent UN reports confirm a sharp rise in settler and military violence throughout the West Bank. The United Nations recorded about 757 settler attacks in the first half of 2025, citing a climate of near-total impunity for perpetrators. The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) documented 71 attacks between October 7 and 13 alone, many linked to the olive harvest season, resulting in injuries, theft, and damage to Palestinian crops and property across 27 villages.
