Pezeshkian: US, EU Claims on Iran’s Nuclear Program Unfounded

ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed the country’s steadfast commitment to peace and security in West Asia, emphasizing that Tehran has never pursued nuclear weapons in line with its core principles and policies.

During a meeting with the new Swiss ambassador, Olivier Bangerter, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s long-standing commitment to peace and regional stability, stressing that Tehran has never sought nuclear weapons. He urged Switzerland—serving as the intermediary for US interests in Iran—to convey this truth to Washington and criticized the US and certain European countries for spreading baseless allegations against Iran’s peaceful nuclear activities.

Pezeshkian expressed appreciation for Switzerland’s cooperation in sectors such as food and medicine despite unjust sanctions, while condemning Israel’s aggression in Gaza. He described the Israeli regime’s actions as inhumane and illegal, asserting that its behavior is the main source of instability in West Asia. Ambassador Bangerter, in response, pledged to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance Switzerland’s role as a trusted channel of communication between Tehran and Washington.

In a separate meeting with Indonesia’s new ambassador, Rolliansyah Soemirat, Pezeshkian called for unity among Muslim nations to counter common threats and prevent further Israeli crimes in Gaza. He emphasized that solidarity and collaboration in science, culture, economy, and security could transform the Muslim world into a strong, cohesive front. Soemirat reaffirmed Indonesia’s support for Iran’s peaceful nuclear rights and the Palestinian cause, while expressing readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation.

Pezeshkian also met with Tamakolo Ouattara, the new ambassador of Ivory Coast, to discuss expanding ties with African nations. Highlighting Africa as a key priority in Iran’s foreign policy, he stressed the importance of activating a joint economic committee to strengthen cooperation in various sectors. Ouattara expressed optimism about enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in agriculture, and commended Iran’s influential role in regional and global affairs.
