Alwaght- Ex-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev warned Washington hat his country has the power to put the US and the West in their place as he accused the Western media and politicians of running Russophobian agenda to partition Russia.
Served as president from 2008 to 2012 and is now deputy secretary of Russia's Security, Medvedev said the American administration has stoked "disgusting" Russophobia in an attempt to bring Russia to its knees.
But this "will not work. Russia has the might to put all of our brash enemies in their place," he addressed the West and mainly the US.
The West, led by the US, embarked on an unprecedented media campaign to "demonize" Russia since President Vladimir Putin of Russia orderd a "special operation" against Ukraine on February 24.
The Western camp sanctioned almost all of Russian sectors, from energy to banking and steel in what many called an anti-Russian blockade.
Russia warmed that the West sought to split Russia under the ruse of sanctions.
President Putin says that the military operation in Ukraine was necessary because Washington was using Ukraine to threaten Russia and Russia had to defend against the "genocide" of Russian-speaking people by Ukraine.
Russia has since shifted to others for stronger relations like China and India. It says that despite sanctions it can fare well without "deceitful and decadent West" led by the US. The bid to forge ties with the West after the 1991 fall of the Soviet Union is now over, Moscow said.
