ALWAGHT- Iran’s Supreme National Security Council secretary stated that unconditional concessions won’t sway adversaries, emphasizing that national unity and economic reforms are the proper way to influence rival powers’ stance toward Iran.
In remarks on Sunday, Ali Larijani stressed that negotiations should not be approached naively, clarifying that “no one says we should not negotiate.” He explained that while dialogue is a valid method, it must occur under the right conditions, and Iran has never rejected talks outright.
“Even when we engaged in negotiations, they resorted to war,” Larijani said, criticizing the current US approach as insincere and aimed at securing predetermined outcomes rather than genuine dialogue.
He emphasized that adversaries must be “brought to their senses” through the establishment of “national resistance,” which he said must include a strong economic dimension.
Larijani warned that unconditional concessions will not achieve this goal. Instead, he argued that the proper way to shift rivals’ attitudes is by strengthening national unity, with economic reforms serving as a prerequisite to stabilize citizens’ lives.
