Two IRGC Personnel Killed and Three Wounded in Attack in Western Iran

ALWAGHT- A terrorist attack in Iran’s western Kordestan province targeting Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) personnel has left two dead and three injured.

On Monday, a terrorist from “hostile and counterrevolutionary groups” attacked an IRGC base in Sarv-Abad County, Kordestan province, using a hand grenade. The attack killed two servicemen—cleric Ali-Reza Valizadeh and Basij volunteer Ayyoub Shiri—and injured three others, who were hospitalized for treatment.

The IRGC’s provincial division condemned the perpetrators, calling them “merciless terrorists” and linking them to “agents of the global arrogance.” The division expressed sorrow over the incident and praised the victims’ courage and dedication, emphasizing their role in maintaining national security. Condolences were extended to Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, the victims’ families, and the Iranian nation.

The Islamic Republic has repeatedly connected such cross-border terrorist attacks to foreign intelligence services, highlighting the need for heightened military and police vigilance. In a related incident in late August, Iranian security forces killed eight terrorists responsible for a prior attack in Sistan and Baluchestan, which had resulted in the deaths of five local law enforcement officers.
