ALWAGHT- The Iranian Foreign Ministry has disclosed additional information regarding the indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington held in Oman.
In an interview with Iran’s state television, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei clarified that the indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in Oman were strictly limited to nuclear matters and sanctions relief.
According to Baghaei, the proposal put forward by Steve Witkoff, the US Special Envoy to the Middle East, did not address topics such as Iran’s regional influence, missile program, or other security concerns. Instead, it solely sought assurances regarding the peaceful intent of Iran’s nuclear activities.
Baghaei stressed that the US has so far adhered to this agreed framework, and reiterated that Iran remains committed to discussing only nuclear-related issues. He further underlined that the Iranian delegation does not entertain talks beyond this scope, reaffirming that the nuclear file remains the exclusive subject of dialogue with Washington.
