ALWAGHT- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a phone call with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, denounced US pressure tactics on Tehran and urged regional nations to stay vigilant against Washington’s attempts to sow division.
Iranian and Iraqi foreign ministers discussed the latest regional developments, including Israel’s renewed attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, as well as US military strikes in Yemen. Iranian FM Abbas Araghchi condemned Israel’s continued assaults, blaming them on US support, and called for urgent international and regional action to stop the violence and prevent further instability.
Araghchi also warned about the dangers of US military operations in the region, criticizing Washington’s use of regional airspace and bases for hostile actions. He urged neighboring countries to take measures to protect their sovereignty and prevent foreign forces from using their territories to destabilize the region. Additionally, he dismissed US sanctions on Iran’s oil industry as baseless, accusing Washington of attempting to sow discord for Israel’s benefit.
Iraqi FM Fuad Hussein voiced deep concern over the escalating conflicts in Gaza, Lebanon, and Syria. He emphasized the importance of regional cooperation to ease Palestinian suffering and maintain peace and stability in the region.
