ALWAGHT- According to a report, the Israeli regime is using multiple methods to carry out a psychological campaign intended to undermine the Iran-US talks in Oman.
A source cited by Al-Alam news network denied that the issue of avenging the assassination of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani has been discussed during ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the United States in Oman. The source emphasized that the topic was not raised by the American side, neither officially nor unofficially.
The talks have focused instead on Iran’s demand for the lifting of US sanctions and Washington’s concerns over Iran’s nuclear program. The source clarified that no other issues, including the 2020 killing of Soleimani or the 2024 attempted assassination of Donald Trump—blamed on Iran by some—have been part of the dialogue. Iranian officials, including President Pezeshkian, have strongly denied any involvement in the Trump incident.
The upcoming meeting in Oman is described by Tehran as a "test" to gauge the seriousness of the United States in resolving bilateral tensions. Relations remain strained following Trump’s withdrawal from the 2015 nuclear deal in 2018 and his re-imposition of sanctions, a policy he has resumed after returning to office earlier this year.
