ALWAGHT- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that while Iran has rejected direct talks with the US in response to a letter from the American president, it remains open to indirect negotiations as a viable option.
President Pezeshkian announced that Iran has responded to a letter from the US president via Oman, rejecting direct talks but keeping the door open for indirect negotiations. He emphasized that Iran has never avoided negotiations and reiterated its willingness to engage through indirect channels.
He highlighted the main obstacle to progress as the US failure to uphold commitments, stressing that trust must be rebuilt for meaningful engagement. The continuation of talks, he noted, depends on US actions and adherence to agreements.
Pezeshkian also condemned Israel’s violations in Palestine and Lebanon, calling for an end to its atrocities. He criticized Israel for breaching the ceasefire with Lebanon and attacking civilians, while praying for greater unity among Muslim nations against such inhumane actions.
