ALWAGHT- On Tuesday, the Israeli army announced it had once again targeted two military bases in central Syria, just a day after the EU's foreign policy chief warned that such strikes in Syria and Lebanon could heighten tensions.
The Israeli military confirmed it had struck military targets at Syrian bases in Tadmur and T4, following similar attacks on Friday. The IDF emphasized that these actions were aimed at eliminating threats to Israeli citizens and maintaining security in the region.
During a visit to Occupied Al-Quds, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas warned that Israeli strikes on Syria and Lebanon risked escalating tensions. She stressed the need for proportional military actions, arguing that Syria was not actively attacking Israel and that such strikes could fuel further radicalization.
Israel has conducted hundreds of airstrikes in Syria since Islamist-led rebels overthrew Bashar Assad in December, aiming to prevent weapons from reaching groups it considers militants. Despite a ceasefire, Israel has also continued striking targets in Lebanon, with both sides accusing each other of violating the truce.
