Alwaght- Jeish al-Fath terrorist group in Syria has claimed responsibility for the assassination of the Russian ambassador to Turkey.
In a statement published on their website, the terrorist group said “one of the brave young members of the Jeish al-Fath” in cooperation with another group in Turkmenistan “executed Russian ambassador, Andrei Karlov in Ankara”.
The terrorist group which has been fighting against the Syrian people in Aleppo said the attack was a “revenge” for the people killed in the city.
Turkish security forces, however, believe the movement led by the US-based Fetulah Gulen was behind the attack.
Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkish foreign minister had informed his US counterpart, John Kerry that the followers of Gulen are behind the assassination, sources in the ministry said.
Although a media official in Gulen movement rejected the accusation and said his movement strongly condemns the move.
Russian ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov was assassinated by a former member of Turkish anti-riot police, during his speech to inaugurate a photo exhibition in Ankara.
