ALWAGHT- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf emphasizes that Iran will not wait for any messages from the United States, instead focusing on its own capabilities and global partnerships to combat sanctions.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf stated that Tehran will not wait for any messages from the United States and will instead rely on its domestic capabilities and international partnerships to counter sanctions. He criticized US President Donald Trump’s claims about negotiations, describing them as deceptive tactics meant to weaken Iran and pressure it into making concessions. Ghalibaf reaffirmed that Iran firmly rejects negotiations under threats, emphasizing that such talks would not lead to the lifting of sanctions but rather the humiliation of the Iranian people.
His remarks followed statements by Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who condemned what he called "bullying tactics" by foreign powers. A day earlier, Trump had disclosed in an interview that he had sent a letter to Iranian leadership while also threatening military action. Khamenei asserted that certain governments push for negotiations not to resolve issues but to impose new demands on Iran, insisting that Tehran would not comply with such pressure.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi also addressed reports of Trump’s letter, stating that Iran had not received any official communication from the US He reiterated that Iran has never agreed—and will never agree—to negotiations conducted under coercion. Araghchi’s comments further reinforced Tehran’s stance that diplomatic engagement must be free from threats and external pressure.
