Alwaght- The UN nuclear body has rejected recent Israeli regime's claims that it showed “weakness” in monitoring the implementation of the 2015 nuclear accord between six world powers and Iran.
The refutation came after Zionist newspaper Haaretz cited several anonymous Israeli regime officials on Sunday as claiming that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) had failed to inspect some sites in Iran after being tipped off by an unidentified Western “entity.”
"This article does not accurately reflect the safeguards work of the IAEA,” a spokesman for the IAEA said in a statement later on Sunday.
"As Director General Yukiya Amano has said, the IAEA has conducted many complementary accesses (CAs) in Iran since Implementation Day of the JCPOA, and will continue to request access to sites and locations before drawing a broader conclusion for the country,” he added.
"As Director General Yukiya Amano has said, the IAEA has conducted many complementary accesses (CAs) in Iran since Implementation Day of the JCPOA, and will continue to request access to sites and locations before drawing a broader conclusion for the country,” he added.
The JCPOA stands for the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action as the nuclear accord between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries is known.
The spokesman said under the deal with Iran, the IAEA "has broader access to information and locations" which "significantly increases the ability to verify the peaceful use of all nuclear material in a country."
"In Iran, as of today we have been able to visit, as planned, all sites and locations that we have identified for CAs,” he added.
On September 11, the IAEA once again confirmed that Iran had lived up to its commitments under the nuclear agreement.
The Israeli regime is making unfounded allegations against Iran it is estimated to have 200 to 400 nuclear warheads in its arsenal. The regime also refuses to either accept or deny having the weapons.
Israel has also evaded signing the NPT amid while receiving unconditional nuclear technology support from United States and other Western states.
Israeli regime’s nuclear program is a cause of serious concern for regional countries and the international community and in this regard, Iran has called on the IAEA to closely attend to and address the issue.
