ALWAGHT- Iran marked National Nuclear Technology Day by showcasing new advancements in peaceful nuclear technology.
On April 9, a ceremony attended by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami, showcased six major achievements in Iran's nuclear industry. The event highlighted the country's latest advancements in various nuclear sectors, with President Pezeshkian touring an exhibition featuring the new developments.
The exhibition was divided into three sections. The first focused on the nuclear fuel cycle, including uranium exploration, yellow cake production, and uranium processing, along with enrichment processes. The second section presented nuclear power plant projects, such as the construction of new units at the Bushehr Nuclear Facility and the Karoun Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the localization of reactor production and spare part manufacturing.
The third section highlighted applications of nuclear technology in medicine, agriculture, and industry. This included innovations in heavy water production, radiopharmaceuticals, plasma technology, and industrial accelerators, alongside advancements in quantum technology and the development of medical and industrial lasers. These achievements underline Iran's growing self-sufficiency in nuclear technology.
