ALWAGHT- A Palestinian-American teenager has been killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank.
On April 6, 14-year-old Palestinian-American Omar Mohammed Saada Rabea was shot and killed by Israeli forces near the town of Turmus Ayya in the West Bank. Two other Palestinian-American teenagers were also wounded in the incident, according to the town's mayor, Adeeb Lafi Shalabi.
The Palestinian Authority condemned the killing, calling it part of a broader pattern of "extrajudicial killings" by Israeli forces, and criticized the use of live fire against children. The authority also emphasized that Israel's impunity as an occupying power encourages such actions. Mohamed Rabea, the victim’s father, called on US President Trump to stop sending weapons that he believes are being used to harm US citizens.
The White House has not yet commented on the shooting, and the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, has raised alarm over the escalating violence in the West Bank. Since October 2023, at least 900 Palestinians, including 191 children, have been killed by Israeli forces and settlers, according to the UN.
