ALWAGHT- President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that Iran will neither retreat from nor make concessions on its nuclear accomplishments, firmly dismissing US military threats.
During a ceremony marking National Nuclear Technology Day, President Masoud Pezeshkian emphasized Iran’s firm stance on its nuclear advancements, asserting that increased US threats will only strengthen the country's resolve. He reaffirmed Iran’s openness to dialogue, but only on the basis of dignity and mutual respect, and firmly rejected any compromise on Iran's scientific and technological progress.
Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran is not pursuing nuclear weapons, referencing statements by Ayatollah Khamenei declaring nuclear arms forbidden. He criticized Western accusations and questioned the logic of demanding negotiations while maintaining harsh sanctions and restrictions. The president underlined Iran’s peaceful intentions, stating that the country does not seek war but is fully prepared to defend itself against any aggression.
Touching on the 2015 nuclear deal (JCPOA), Pezeshkian reminded that Iran had fully honored its commitments before the US unilaterally withdrew and reimposed sanctions. He expressed hope that with continued strength and upcoming diplomatic efforts, including indirect Iran-US talks in Muscat, a resolution to the ongoing issues can be achieved.
