Islamic Nations Fight one another Instead of Real Enemies: Islamic Jihad Movement Official
Alwaght: The representative of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Nasser Abu Sharif in an exclusive interview with Alwaght told that the Arab states are spending money to sabotage and conspire, instead of focusing on fighting against the real enemy i.e. the Israeli regime.
Criticizing the policies adopted by the Islamic and Arab states, Abu Sharif noted that "if an Arab country provides the Palestinians with the price of one of its fighting aircrafts – rusting in their warehouses, we would have witnessed a quantum leap in the resistance operations against the Israeli regime, and could have resulted in achievements that could not be attained by thousands of these fighting aircrafts against the occupation."
In response to a question about the reasons behind the regression of the Palestinian issue – the primary issue in the Islamic and Arab world- the representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Abu Sharif said:
"There are many reasons behind this regression. Some owe it to the Palestinian reality. Others relate it to the regional and international state. This era might be the worst phases in the history of the Palestinian issue."
Regarding the reasons related to the Palestinian status, Abu Sharif noted that, "Today, what the Palestinian issue suffers from is schism and the absence of a unified national program. Unfortunately, the Palestinians do not have an agenda that would unify them. This would muster the efforts of the nation around the Palestinian issue, which still gains a lot of attention despite the bad circumstances experienced by the Islamic and Arab people."
He added, "What we are deprived from is the Palestinian action, which is considered the incentive for these people due to reasons that is well-known for everyone. However, the reasons for this deprivation include the feud between two axes within the Palestinian society. One axis has been negotiating with the Israeli regime since twenty four years ago and has not achieved anything yet, because the Israeli regime negotiates just for the sake of negotiation".
"The second axis is the resistance, which is under siege and intense compulsion by the Israeli regime on one hand, and by the Arabs on the other," he added. "They want to achieve a 'reconstruction versus resistance' equation. The reconstruction would be in an exchange for giving up resistance. They are imposing this equation on the Palestinian people. They are granting the Palestinians in Gaza Strip the choice of resisting or reconstructing the distressed areas as a result of the recent barbaric Israeli aggression."
Regarding the Arab regimes sabotage, the representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement confirmed that, "We are witnessing an Arab-Arab conspiracy after the events of the so-called Arab Spring. There is a conspiracy against the revolutions which – in my opinion – put the Palestinian issue as on the top of their priority list. However, these revolutions were suppressed one by one, and were replaced with worse and more oppressive systems than those preceding. Moreover, the suppression of the revolutions has led to further schism within the Arab society. There are also civil wars, which have major impact on Syria and Iraq, leading to further societal and regional division. Yemen has also is added to the equation that has only resulted in preoccupation of the Arab and Islamic forces with this conflict. In the end, the biggest loser in these series of events is the Palestinian issue, and the biggest winner is the Israeli regime, those who support it, and the Western agenda that is targeting this nation."
How could the Islamic and Arabic nation can escape this deadlock and bring the Palestinian issue back to its original significance? Abu Sharif answered, "f you want a thing done well, do it yourself'. We, as Palestinians, have to launch this project. We understand that the Palestinian issue is not an issue that is confined to the Palestinians only. The scheme that is targeting the Palestinians is the same one that is  targeting the whole Islamic nation. It is still working to sabotage and divide us as a nation. Of course the Israeli regime is part of this plan. Therefore, what affects the Palestinians, is also affecting the whole nation. When fighting for the Palestinian issue, we are also fighting for the whole nation. It is possible to rectify the axis of any party within the Arabic and Islamic reality."
"It should not be ignored that the majority of this responsibilities is on the Palestinians' shoulders. The Palestinians must unite, meet each other halfway, and review their course over the past decades. Eventually, they would plan a unified program. Any unified program would be better than the state of schism within the Palestinian society."
The representative of the Islamic Jihad Movement office to Iran, Nasser Abu Sharif, emphasized that "Some Palestinian figures must not act as if they are the only ones keen on the Palestinian issue. This is not right. There is a whole community out there. All of the influential forces must meet, discuss, and eventually must come out with a unifying project. This is the basic starting point."
"Moreover, the Arabs must focus on Palestine instead of infighting and the enormous self-destruction measures."
He went on saying, "Now, all the countries are subject to a state of schism, this is harmful to Palestine. In my opinion, if all these forces head toward the real enemies, it would be much better for those who claim are revolutionary or are seeking the benefit of the nation. If they emend their aim toward freeing Palestine, they would achieve the benefit of their people, they will obtain monumental gains, and they will free themselves from infighting."
Slamming of the status of the Arab and Islamic nation, Nasser Abu Sharif said, "Unfortunately, the Islamic nation nowadays is wandering, fighting each other, and is not targeting its real enemies. Those enemies are the ones who are glad with what is happening in our nation."
In his assessment of the current status of the Palestinian resistance, Nasser Abu Sharif told Al-Waght, "Observing the Palestinian resistance movements, the Palestinian people, and even the Palestinian National Authority, when it comes to donation and fund payments for the sake of Palestine, there is absolute parsimony. However, there is pure generosity when it comes to infighting."
"The Palestinian people are not in need of huge money in order to be saved from their catastrophic situation. Few days earlier, there was a Qatari aircraft deal. We are not against empowerment of the Arab countries, but the price per a fighting aircraft exceeded 260 million dollars. This means that if the price of one of those was spent for the Palestinian resistance, it would have achieved more than thousands of such aircrafts. Regrettably, they prefer to spend money over a fighting aircraft that would be stored in their warehouses until it becomes nonfunctional than to grant it to the Palestinian resistance and Palestinian people. The latter would certainly achieve way more powerful accomplishments than all what the fighting aircrafts, possessed by the Arabs, could achieve."
Finally Abu Sharif concluded that "Today, we are facing a malicious campaign against the Palestinian people and its resistance. When there are wars or conspiracies targeting the nation, the Arab funds are spent in abundance such in Syria, Iraq, Yemen and so on. These funds are not for reconstruction and reform, but rather for destruction. If these were disbursed for Palestine, our status would be quite different. These countries would gain more than they are gaining from their waged wars. We firmly believe that all of this is absolute loss for those supporting the conflicts, all of the Arabs, and the whole Islamic nation."
