ALWAGHT- Iran and UAE foreign ministers expressed deep concern over the worsening regional situation after attacks on Gaza and Yemen.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed escalating regional tensions in a phone call on Friday. They focused on Israel’s renewed war on Gaza and US military strikes in Yemen, both of which have led to significant civilian casualties. Araghchi condemned Israel’s actions as a violation of the ceasefire with Hamas and denounced the US attacks for worsening Yemen’s humanitarian crisis.
Araghchi called for an urgent and unified response from regional and Islamic nations to stop the ongoing violence and prevent further instability. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed shared similar concerns, warning that the situation was highly alarming. He emphasized the importance of continued diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation in the region.
Reports indicate that Israeli forces have intensified strikes on Gaza, targeting civilian areas and violating international humanitarian law. Meanwhile, US airstrikes in Yemen have resulted in civilian deaths, including children, and widespread destruction. The attacks are part of Washington’s effort to counter Yemen’s pro-Palestinian operations, which have targeted Israeli interests since the Gaza conflict resumed.
