ALWAGHT- Amid Israel's brutal war on Gaza, a senior Hamas official has called for mass Palestinian participation in planned demonstrations, including in the West Bank, to show unity with the embattled territory.
Abdel Rahman Shadid, a Hamas official, has urged Palestinians—particularly students in the West Bank—to join large-scale "angry marches" on Tuesday in solidarity with Gaza. The protests aim to condemn Israel's ongoing war, which Shadid described as a "genocidal campaign" against Palestinians. The call comes as Gaza faces relentless bombardment, with over 51,240 killed and 116,931 wounded since October 7.
Shadid stressed that Israeli raids and mass arrests should not deter West Bank students from supporting Gaza, where Israel's offensive has also fueled increased settler violence. More than 955 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank, with 8,000 detained. The Hamas official called for urgent mobilization, urging Palestinians to resist displacement plans in Gaza, the West Bank, and al-Quds.
Shadid emphasized escalating all forms of resistance to counter Israeli aggression, urging Palestinians to defend their land and holy sites. He warned against Israeli efforts to forcibly displace Palestinians and called for sustained confrontation to deter occupation forces and settler attacks. The statement underscores Hamas's push for broader Palestinian unity against what it frames as an existential threat.
