ALWAGHT- During a bilateral meeting in Moscow on Wednesday, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov praised the exceptional level of coordination between Tehran and Moscow, highlighting their alignment on nearly all international issues.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov welcomed the Iranian delegation, highlighting the intensive schedule of the visit and the significance of the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty,” which has entered its implementation phase and will guide bilateral relations for the next 20 years. He also announced the signing of a consultation program between the two foreign ministries for 2026–2028, emphasizing the depth of coordination and frequent high-level contact.
Lavrov referenced the recent Ashgabat meeting between Presidents Masoud Pezeshkian and Vladimir Putin, noting that it set clear objectives under the new treaty. He expressed confidence that the Moscow talks would help align positions on key regional and international issues, including the Iranian nuclear program, Palestine, and broader Middle East developments.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi praised the continuous and multidimensional cooperation between Tehran and Moscow across political, economic, cultural, defense, and security sectors. He highlighted shared positions on nearly all international matters, Russia’s support against US and Israeli actions, and the importance of ongoing strategic consultations to address regional challenges and ensure stability.
