ALWAGHT- Fresh Israeli airstrikes in southern Gaza have reportedly violated the delicate ceasefire in place for the past three weeks.
Israeli airstrikes were reported on Tuesday morning in Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, though no casualties were reported. The strikes mark continued violations of the fragile ceasefire, which, according to the UN, has seen nearly 250 Palestinians killed since 10 October.
The escalation follows the recent exchange of remains, with Israel returning 270 Palestinian bodies since the ceasefire began, of which only 78 have been identified. This came after Hamas handed over three Israeli soldiers’ remains to Israel, prompting the release of 45 Palestinian bodies.
Meanwhile, tensions persist in the West Bank, where Israeli forces reportedly arrested eight Palestinians during raids in Nablus, Beit Furik, and the Balata refugee camp. The region has also seen a surge in settler violence, including attacks on farmers and vandalism of agricultural land.
