Rallies in 900+ Iranian Cities Mark US Embassy Takeover Anniversary

ALWAGHT- Large crowds across Tehran and more than 900 cities commemorated the 1979 US Embassy seizure, observed as the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance.

Mass rallies were held across Iran, with students, clerics, youth, and families gathering in Tehran and other cities to mark 13 Aban — the anniversary of the 1979 US Embassy takeover and Iran’s National Day of Anti-Arrogance. Demonstrators condemned US and Israeli actions, waving Iranian flags and carrying images of martyrs while chanting slogans including “Death to America” and “Death to Israel.”

The main march in Tehran moved from Palestine Square to the former US Embassy, featuring political speeches, chants, cultural displays, and symbolic acts such as burning US and Israeli flags and staging a mock trial of US and Israeli leaders. Exhibits showcased decades of perceived Western and Israeli aggression, alongside displays of Iranian missiles and nuclear achievements.

A formal resolution reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to resisting US and Israeli influence, defending Palestine, and strengthening national unity under Ayatollah Khamenei’s leadership. Participants emphasized preserving Iran’s independence and advancing scientific and military capabilities, honoring the role of students and martyrs in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty.
