Iran Delivers 100 Tons of Relief Supplies to Quake-Affected Afghanistan

ALWAGHT- Iran’s Red Crescent Society announced that a 100-ton shipment of humanitarian aid has been sent by air and land to earthquake-hit eastern Afghanistan.

Iran’s Red Crescent Society has announced the dispatch of more than 100 tons of humanitarian supplies to Afghanistan following a deadly earthquake. The aid, sent in response to an urgent request from the Afghan Red Crescent, includes food, tents, blankets, clothing, and other essential items for emergency shelter and relief. Officials emphasized Iran’s commitment to standing by nations in crisis, pledging continued support for Afghanistan’s quake-hit communities.

This latest shipment follows earlier assistance from Iran, which had already delivered about 200 tons of relief supplies through its Red Crescent Society. The organization reiterated its readiness to provide further aid as Afghanistan struggles to recover from the devastation.

The crisis was triggered by a magnitude 6.0 earthquake on Sunday, followed by a 5.5 aftershock on Tuesday that hampered rescue efforts and caused landslides. According to the Taliban administration, the disaster has left at least 2,205 dead and 3,640 injured, while the United Nations warns the toll may rise as many remain trapped under rubble.
