ALWAGHT- The top military official in Iran called for boosting the Air Defense Force’s effectiveness and capability to confront evolving threats and potential acts of aggression.
Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, marked National Air Defense Day by honoring the dedication and sacrifices of personnel who protect Iran’s airspace using faith, knowledge, and innovation.
He emphasized that lessons from recent regional events, including the Israeli-US aggression in June and the Iraq-imposed war in the 1980s, highlight the need to modernize systems, strengthen capabilities, and enhance the operational readiness of the Air Defense Force.
Mousavi stressed that the Air Defense Force must boost its effectiveness through modern technologies, domestic innovations, and skilled personnel, while also calling for an integrated national air defense system and closer coordination between the Army and the IRGC to ensure a robust and unified defense.
