ALWAGHT- Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, reaffirmed Tehran’s opposition to any regional geopolitical changes, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to peace and stability.
In a Tehran meeting with Armenian Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan, Iran’s Ali Larijani expressed satisfaction with the current economic, political, security, and defense ties between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of cooperation on the North-South corridor, linking the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea, and reiterated Iran’s support for peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Larijani emphasized that Iran has consistently supported the independence and strength of regional countries to maintain stability and security. Grigoryan praised the strong ties between Yerevan and Tehran, noting Armenia’s plan to sign a comprehensive strategic relations document with Iran.
Grigoryan outlined five key principles—national sovereignty, territorial integrity, judicial authority, border inviolability, and trade—and assured Iran of guarantees to protect bilateral relations. He also affirmed Armenia’s exclusive authority over its security, military, and customs matters, while opposing any geopolitical changes in the region.
