Kremlin Supports Iran’s Bid to Join EAEU As Full Member

ALWAGHT- According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, Russia welcomes Iran’s bid to secure full EAEU membership.

In Moscow on Saturday, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov expressed a positive assessment of Iran’s position, stating, “The Russian side welcomes such a position.” His comments followed remarks by Iran’s First Vice President, Mohammadreza Aref, who indicated that Tehran is seeking permanent membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

Aref emphasized that expanding relations with neighboring countries, particularly those in the Eurasian region, is a central priority for the Iranian administration.

The EAEU is an intergovernmental economic bloc comprising Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia. Iran currently holds observer status within the union, alongside Uzbekistan, Moldova, and Cuba.
