ALWAGHT- According to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, an agreement may be within reach if the US aims to verify the peaceful intent of Iran’s nuclear activities, highlighting Tehran’s right to uranium enrichment.
President Trump entered office stating that Iran should not possess nuclear weapons, a stance that aligns with our own policy and could serve as a strong basis for a deal, Araghchi wrote on X on Wednesday.
As talks resume on Sunday, it is evident that an agreement ensuring the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program is attainable and could be finalized quickly, the senior Iranian diplomat added.
Araghchi emphasized that such a mutually beneficial agreement depends on Iran continuing its uranium enrichment under full IAEA supervision, alongside the effective lifting of sanctions. Since April 12, the US and Iran have conducted five rounds of nuclear negotiations and are scheduled to meet again on Sunday to resolve disputes over uranium enrichment levels.
