US-Backed Kurdish Forces Let ISIS Terrorists Leave Raqqa for Palmyra

Alwaght- Russia says the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) make deal with ISIS terrorists, allowing them leave Raqqa for Palmyra.

The Kurdish-led SDF has been on the offensive since November, aiming to surround ISIS self-proclaimed capital city of Raqqa in Syria.

According to State-run Sputnik news agency, the Russian military in Syria have received several confirmed reports that ISIS terrorists made a deal with the units of SDF operating near Raqqa, allowing them to escape the embattled city without obstacles.

"Upon receiving this information, the command of the Russian contingent in Syria has taken measures to prevent the exodus of ISIS terrorists in the southern direction," the source said.

The Russian news agency cited a source in the Russian Defense Ministry as saying that Russian air force on 25 May has targeted a convoy of 39 pick-up trucks armed with large-caliber machine-guns that was leaving Raqqa for Palmyra.

The airstrikes have reportedly killed 120 ISIS terrorists.

"As a result of these strikes, 32 pick-up trucks were destroyed and some 120 terrorists were killed," the unnamed military source told sputnik.

He went on by saying that Russian drones have been deployed around the clock to track the possible routes that the terrorists could use to escape the city and move toward Palmyra. Russian combat aircraft and special forces units were also engaged in the operation to prevent the terrorists from fleeing Raqqa.

"Any attempts by ISIS militants to move toward Palmyra and to build up their forces there will be squashed," the source stressed.
