Alwaght- Thousands of Iranians have rallied in capital city of Tehran and other major cities across the country to denounce a Bahraini regime persecution of prominent Islamic Scholar Sheikh Isa Qassim.
The Iranian demonstrators took to the streets after Friday prayers nationwide, chanting "Death to the House of Khalifa," a reference to the ruling family of Bahrain, and also, "Death to the House of Saud," a reference to the Saudi royal family while others chanted “Death to America”.
Manama crackdown on the country's majority Shiite population took worse turn immediately after the Bahraini king met US President Donald Trump in Riyadh on Sunday on the sidelines of a summit that brought together rulers of some Muslim countries.
Saudi and UAE troops are backing Bahrain in its suppression of Shiite Muslims which has left at least five peopled dead since Tuesday.
Tehran Friday prayers Imam Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami, said that the attack on protesters in Diraz, the killing and arrest of dozens was a "brutality", adding that "never has any government treated its people with such brutality."
Ayatollah Khatami added that "these crimes were committed after the meeting between Bahrain King (Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa) and US President Trump, and no doubt that these events occur with green light given from these criminals."
"I tell the invading dictators in Bahrain, who are not [originally] Bahrainis, but they are rather from Najd, and controlled the abilities of people by force and with British deception. I tell them: Look at the fate of Iran's criminal Shah," Tehran Friday prayers Imam stressed.
"The people will witness the demise of the criminal Al Saudi and Al Khalifa, and these people will see that they will be thrown into the trash of history," Khatami went on to say.
On its part, the Assembly of Experts of the Islamic Republic of Iran condemned the "brutal attack carried out by the Al Khalifa regime on the house of Bahrain's religious authorities Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qassim", warning of the repercussions of this abuse.
