Alwaght- The battles in the city of Tikrit and its suburbs are no longer subtle, and so is the progress that is being achieved by the Iraqi security forces, supported by the Popular Mass Mobilization and Tribes, in order to release it from under the control of ISIS. Moreover, it is no secret that terrorist group defenses are tumbling under the pressure of the attacks of the fighters, the Iraqi Aircraft strikes, and the valiant fighting of the popular forces to get out from the grip of terror to the space of freedom. Day after day, ISIS' attacks decline promising with the near liberalization of the city with a triumph for every Iraqi soldier. Will the liberalization of Tikrit and its suburbs be a promise for the expulsion of ISIS from Iraq? Is it possible to say that the end of battles in Iraq is a prelude to the end of the terrorist group?
Hours after announcing, from the city of Samarra, the signal of launching of the security battle for the liberalization of Salahuddin Province and its capital Tikrit, the General Commander of the Armed Forces, the Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi asked the forces to be caution in dealing with the citizens and to preserve their lives and properties. Al-Abadi praised the status of union between the people and the security forces in confronting the terrorist attacks. He said, "I kiss the hands of those defending the soil of Iraq and those sacrificing their blood for the sake of freeing their country," considering that everyone is fighting under the leadership and flag of the nation.
The announcement of the beginning of the Iraqi battles showed the weakness and fragility of the decision and the doctrine of ISIS which included terrorist decisions that declare destruction for everyone that denies the ISIS doctrine. Security sources have confirmed that the defenses of ISIS around the city of Tikrit began falling apart as the participating troops progress – about 20,000 fighter.
Sources show that the Iraqi Air Force has violently bombed the strongholds of ISIS in Tikrit, in the framework of the operation of the liberation of the city. The Air Force was successful in destroying nine dens of the terrorist group in the middle of the city, and caused huge losses for the terrorists. The Iraqi Air Force clarified that the attack was launched based on three axes. The first axis started from Al-Dour District, east of Tikrit, where large joint forces are advancing toward it as the lines of ISIS' defenses collapse.
The second axis, according to the security source, was launched from Tuz Khormato District, which is 85 kilometers east of Tikrit, where the joint forces has started advancing toward Al-Naima Village which is located between Al-Alam and Al-Tuz. The third axis was from the center of the city Tikrit and the joint forces launched from various axis though it.
The sources of the "All Iraq" Agency announced that a force from the Military Spyker base advanced toward the area of Al-Qadessiyah (3 kilometers north Tikrit). Meanwhile, a force progressed toward South of Tikrit in the direction of Al-Oujah Village. A security force set off from the area of Al-Diom and began to dominate the Yarmouk Residential Compound, west of Tikrit.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs pointed out that the Iraqi Liberation Forces, backed by the Iraqi Popular Resistance and the Tribal forces, are heading toward Salahuddin in order to free the areas under the control of ISIS, reinforced with armored tanks and various weapons. The Ministry that these operations are based on the orders of AL-Abadi, and under the guidance and direct supervision of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Mohammad Al-Ghaban, and the Commander of the Federal Police Forces.
The Head of the Council of the Salahuddin Province, Ahmad Abduljabbar Al-Karim, said in a statement, "We all feel, in these terrible moments, as Iraqi citizens, grief, pain, and resentment over the abominable terror that has reached the Iraqis with all their components; however, it is a new episode of series of terrorism that is rampant in the whole world. This imposes, on all of us to join forces in order to remove it from its roots, and protect Iraq from its venoms."
He stressed "the need to confront ISIS and intensify the conservatory efforts in order to confront, eliminate, and cleanse the land of Salahuddin from the intellectual and idealogical extremist elements." He also called for "the revenge of the martyrs of the district and martyrs of Iraq that were martyred during the criminal operations." Al-Karim asked "the army, the security forces, the popular forces and Salahuddin tribal forces who are fighting ISIS in the district, to strictly adhere to the necessity of conserving the lives of the innocent citizens and their properties." He also stressed on "confronting the criminal elements that are raising their weapons in the face of the joint Iraqi forces, in this way we will root out those who want to destabilize the trust between the citizen and the Liberation forces." He continued, "There are those who are betting on planting discord and division among the military forces and the Province's citizens, in order to keep the situation of the province unknown and unsettled."
The Head of the Council of Salahuddin Province addressed the people by saying, "I call upon the glories of your children, for the Musk of the freed land. I call upon your capability to preserve your land… in order to stay united and refuse those who caused and supported the undermining of our province."
Thus, the battle in Tikrit has started, and is almost resolved in the favor of the security forces and the popular forces, which will never kneel to a terrorist or enemy. It is only days before we hear the screams of the terrorists. The victory will soon be celebrated in Iraq promising the end of ISIS. Where, when, and how will this end be? This will be only answered in the upcoming days.
