ALWAGHT- On Tuesday, President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that the Israeli regime was compelled to unilaterally cease its aggression against the Islamic Republic following a "severe and historic" retaliation by the Iranian nation and its armed forces.
President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the Iranian people for their “courageous steadfastness” that led to victory over the Israeli regime’s 12-day war of aggression. He highlighted the Iranian armed forces’ powerful retaliation, launching hundreds of ballistic missiles and drones in Operation True Promise III, which inflicted “unimaginable” losses on Israel despite heavy media censorship.
Pezeshkian blamed Israel’s warmongering for triggering the conflict and credited the Iranian nation for forcing the aggressor to retreat. He noted that the Israeli regime’s unilateral halt in aggression was announced by US President Donald Trump, following Iran’s missile strike on a major US military base in Qatar, which was a response to American attacks on Iranian nuclear sites.
The president emphasized that the aggressors failed to destroy Iran’s infrastructure or nuclear program and shattered their illusion of invincibility. He condemned the betrayal of Iran’s enemies, who launched attacks despite ongoing diplomatic talks mediated by Oman, which collapsed due to US demands and complicity in Israeli aggression. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that negotiations cannot resume while the US supports Israel’s actions.
