Alwaght- Iraqi forces have liberated the Al Anbar Province Traffic Headquarters and Zaytoon neighborhood west of Ramadi from ISIS terrorist group.
Speaking on Tuesday to Iraq News Website, the spokesman for the governor of Anbar, Hikmat Sulayman said that, “the security forces were able today to liberate the Traffic Headquarters of the province and Zaytoon neighborhood west of Ramadi.”
Sulayman said that “the security forces managed to enter the area of Ta’mim and the Stadium area south of Ramadi, and there are battles taking place in the neighborhoods of the two regions,” adding that, “those forces reached the outskirts of the 20th Street in the center of Ramadi.”
On Sunday Iraqi security forces managed to enter Ramadi train station, saying they delivered heavy blow to ISIS terrorist group.
Mid-May this year, ISIS terrorists took full control of the central Iraqi city of Ramadi, the provincial capital of al-Anbar.
Despite the fact that Ain al-Asad air base hosting US fighter jets was very close to Ramadi, the American military forces took no action to stop the ISIS terrorists fighting to take over the Iraqi city.
The ISIS terrorists currently control swathes of territory across Syria and Iraq. They have committed terrible atrocities in both countries, including mass executions and beheading of local residents as well as foreign nationals.
Since August 2014, the US and some of its allies have been conducting airstrikes against what they say are ISIS positions in Iraq. This is while many of the countries joining the so-called anti-terror coalition, such as Saudi Arabia and Qatar, have been the staunch supporters of several terrorist groups including ISIS.
