ALWAGHT- At least 100 Palestinian children have been killed or injured daily in Gaza by Israeli forces since the ceasefire was broken on March 18, according to the UN agency for Palestinian refugees.
UNRWA chief Philippe Lazzarini has warned that the renewed war in Gaza is devastating Palestinian children, describing the region as a “no land” for children. He cited UNICEF data showing that at least 100 children are killed or injured each day since the fighting resumed on March 18, calling it “harrowing” and urging a return to ceasefire to protect innocent lives.
Since the start of the conflict on October 7, 2023, over 15,000 children have been killed in Gaza. In the past 20 days alone, 322 children have died and more than 600 have been injured. UNICEF also reported that a million children in Gaza are suffering from relentless bombing and a worsening humanitarian crisis due to Israel’s blockade on aid.
The Gaza Health Ministry reports that 1,249 people have been killed and over 3,000 injured since the ceasefire ended. In total, more than 50,600 people have been killed and over 115,000 wounded in Gaza since the war began. The toll continues to climb as strikes intensify.
