ALWAGHT- Ukrainian and US delegates are set to begin discussions in Jeddah on March 11, a meeting expected to significantly influence Washington's future support for Kyiv and efforts to resolve the Russia-Ukraine war.
Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry announced that a meeting between Ukrainian and US delegations has begun in Jeddah.
The Ukrainian delegation includes President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, along with Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, and Deputy Chief of Staff Pavlo Palisa. Leading the US delegation are Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz.
Expectations are high for the meeting, as it provides an opportunity to repair strained ties between Kyiv and Washington following a tense exchange between Zelensky and US President Donald Trump in the Oval Office on Feb. 28. Zelensky visited Saudi Arabia on March 10 to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman but will not take part in the talks with US officials.
