ALWAGHT- Iran’s Navy successfully conducted day and night aerial target shooting exercises during the 2025 Maritime Security Belt joint drills with China and Russia in the northern Indian Ocean, according to a senior Iranian Navy commander.
Rear Admiral Mostafa Tajeddini, deputy operations commander of Iran’s Navy, stated that the night shooting exercise, one of the most critical naval drills, was successfully executed by the participating units. He added that a daytime shooting operation was also carried out as part of the exercises.
“The successful execution of day and night aerial target shooting demands precise coordination and step-by-step commands,” Tajeddini explained. He emphasized that the exercise was structured around a shared tactical language between Iran’s naval forces—including the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy and the IRGC Navy—as well as their Chinese and Russian counterparts.
Tajeddini highlighted a key distinction in the 2025 Maritime Security Belt drills compared to previous iterations, noting a greater number of participating units and countries. He also underscored the expanded role of aerial units, including helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft, in more advanced operational areas.
